Gunthar Hartwig is a User Experience designer with 15 years of experience designing digital content and applications for organizations large and small.

As design lead for syndication projects, Gunthar heads up efforts to bring the YouTube experience to the living room. Previous to joining YouTube, he was a Product Manager at Sonic Solutions, developing Scenarist Blu-ray Edition, the first commercially available authoring tool for Blu-ray discs. At Sonic, Gunthar also lead a research group studying the interactive possibilities of next generation DVD's and produced dozens of interactive web-connected DVD's for Hollywood studio clients. Before entering the world of interactive television, Gunthar spent time in the internet startup trenches, helping to develop some of the first do-it yourself internet shops aimed at small business, and designing and producing content for the first interactive city guides.

Gunthar holds a MS in Digital Media from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a BA in anthropology from Pomona College.
